slogging through, trying to make this image work and keep it from turning kinkaide on me... ew.
sick thumbs noah, dig the building silhouettes on the 4th one and the perspective in the 3rd.
nice work guys, here's my bleh wip, crits welcome
This is a very clever idea, to make a habit out of practicing design. It is amazing how the possibilities are infinite when you are trying to achieve balance. Seems like you are playing mostly with...
Is there any way we could see some process shots, I'd love to get a look inside your head - thumbnails/color studies and so on.
Ruthless work here.
Wow, those heads are showing some great construction and a nice finish. The latest SP looks like a Fechin. My only crit is that there is some ambiguity as to whether you are looking down at the...
Thanks to everyone who stopped by and commented.
Also thanks for the crit/paintover, Tom. I think the blur is a little extreme but it definitely has more depth/atmosphere. I'll ultimately shoot...
Nice work in that session today (the texture in the muscle shirt was a bitch, I was trying to suggest it but I think you nailed it), good to see you again, man.
Thanks for stopping by. Really nice sketchbook you have here, looks like you're tackling a variety of subjects. I personally enjoy the environments most.
Thanks Don, (replies in your sketchbook)
Update on the environment.
I like the palette used in these creature concepts, and your monsters in general are really compelling. Keep up the studies, man.
How are ACC classes going? I did decide to transfer - it's a...
The brushwork in the digitals becoming a nice design element (earlier b/w one particularly).
The structure in your figures is also looking phenomenal.
See you sometime at the AVAA.
Hey Si, this is Danny, also from AVAA (I discovered your thread through Bryan's). Love the work here, you should come to life drawing more often. Are you going to grad school or finding work here or...
Been at work on concepts and the work at Gemini, which is consuming my life.
The landscape is a WIP, I'd love to hear any crits.
The last two are graphite drawings, terrible photographs however...
Love how you're constantly pushing these figures man.
Here's the finished piece. Well actually I might need to sharpen the lower level but yeah.
Thanks Bryan and the self proclaimed narcissus. Appreciate the crit, my facial structure understanding is abominable!
I have been working on a UT3 mod and will be posting some of the work. I doubt...
I'm in love with this work. Can't wait to see that dog-fight scene developed.
I am quite enjoying your latest works, Don. Those thumbs for the animation bg look well considered and show experimentation with some interesting compositions and perspective situations.
Wow, I am really glad you're experimenting with media and pushing your figures. Knocking in some of the forms/space around them is resulting in a really successful and unified figure.
The "failed attempt" is one of the best. Awesome improvement in these studies.
Thanks Tom, that's UT art for ya. Each stroke/palette knife mark had to be a different paint mixture. Learned a lot from those.
Yet again, my face. Quick one.
Digital schlock - Character inspired by Goya and Miyazaki's floating spirits.
Sweet submission Don! You definitely got some intense contrast going as per the assignment.
My only crits are that the composition is really central, even so, there's enough going on with other...
Really appreciate all the comments! You're right, some contrast and light specificity would really help my figures. I'll try to be more conscious of that.
Posting some of the seemingly endless...
