I will start doing a cool foreground, get really into it and then the background just leaves me drawing a blank.
Try browsing through landscapes on google, preferable dynamic ones and start piecing...
Sorry I didn't get to say much in your stream, I was so busy ;_;
I agree with gfxtwin, some of the creatures, though excellent anatomy I feel some of look a little too cute. The guy on the Rhino...
what I meant by how there isn't much else I can do with him, is because the deadline to turn him in is tomorrow morning. I really wanted some more time to redo this after suggestions from you guys...
Believe it or not this is just how my teacher wanted me to do this.
I asked if he wanted it in a "t" pose but he said that he would rather it be both modelable and for animation at the same time....
The cutlass placed on the back is to shows that he is involved with diplomats. Its used as a tool more then for attacking, plus this character runs and climbs far to much for it to...
This is a rough draft for my character design class, so far the teacher and students like it but I'm wanting this to be something I could put into a portfolio.
I'm looking for consistency...
I'm stopping here, I don't seem to know what more to do so I'm going to post up this for anyone to suggest changes before I deem it "finished"
Desaturated it and made it dusty under the giant tree
Elwell pretty much said what I was thinking xDD
I think that pic of Xena is a great reference for you, though Id probably suggest a full body reference to go along with that but the one you posted...
I think I got tired of looking at it from the previous angle but when I flipped it to make adjustments I went "ASDIFHSFHSUKF". I like this lighting better, I'm thinking about putting some roots...
is he like a super hero bug exterminator or just a regular average Joe bug exterminator? A person's personality is almost always reflected through their bodies, most anatomy references feature broad...
study suggestion! do lots of 30 second pose sketches!!
Everything looks really nice to me but the clouds seem to draw my eyes away from all the other details. They are too opaque, the look like solid objects in the sky, the snow on that mountain in the...
The line-art bothers me, its solid black and contrasts to much with the soft coloring.
redoing the light rays so I hide the layer they are on.
The focal point still ended up on the dragons face but I shaded Ratatoskr the squirrel because he's kind of being "shady" like in the myth....
still messing around with this, is it looking better or worse?
great robot, your mechanical stuff seems to be in a good direction! I think for practice your should try drawing organic things, like humans animals and such.
Love that last piece! great progress!
Found this and I thought you would find it usefull!
studied the poses in my book "Drawing the Human Body" I think I have the shapes down for fet, they are difficult some of these looks good while others...bleh.
Hey Sunny! what program do you use? the choices of textures you use are really neat, I like the last character concept you posted. Your right when you mentioned that people in real life aren't as...
bits and pieces of stuff
I was able to post this sketch from my assignment in class today. Posemaniacs threw we some boring ones at the end for my 60 sec :(.
Next: doing feet and hands like Cojac recommended.
I know how that feels, always cleaning up after the other kids in art class, I felt bad for the teacher that bought us a big set of prismacolor pencils and my classmates broke the less and crumbled...
I think it looks a little flat, if I was to decide what to change I'd make the cats tail come out and look really dynamic.
I did a few quick redraws of the tail and it really changes his...
