Working on a little editorial style illustration.
I haven't been to one of the sketch groups in years but I really want to start going again.
I've got some freelance to finish off tonight...but count me in for next week.
Yeah, I was flipping thru it at Borders and it was really good looking. Probably one of the better concept art books recently.
I haven't seen the movie, but I want to get the book soon.
Savage: Thanks! The sculpted version is going to have more of a neck area. It wont be as slopping as the concept art.
Here's another shot: Added on the tail, and some clothes. I've been...
Started adding details to the legs and added in whale blubber to the stomach. Next up; the feet and the tail.
Little bit more progress; started refining his left leg a bit and working on his belly. I plan on still beefing him up along the sides, and really add in some mass.
Some more progress. Slowly filling in his body. I don't think I quite realized how much mass he was going to be and how much clay would have to be used at first.
Savage: Thanks for the tip!
A little bit of progress;
Some progress. I found some more clay, but unfortunately is was a bit old and very hard. Going to another art store today, if they don't have i'll just order some online i guess
I've added a bit more. I've run out of clay, and the Blick store doesn't have any more gray sculpey. So I guess I'll have to pause this now.
I'm realizing that I should have built a better...
dextermcspice: Thansk. I've added some concept art up top. I'm going in slightly different direction than these illustrations, but it's along similar lines. Thanks for the Sharpie tip.
This weekend I decided to start a sculpture of a creature that some friends and I made up called the Werewhale. This past year some we self-published a graphic novel of the character. ...
Little bit of progress. I haven't done any sculpting in about 10 years. Lots of fun. I was originally only going to do the head, but today I went out and got some wire for skeleton support.
It's been quite some time since we've posted art around here. Truth is, after the mad push to get the comic done and ready for comic-con, I attended to other parts of our art lives.
But have no...
Thought it was about time that I dumped some final works. This past year, some friends and I got together to create and self-publish a graphic novel, called The Curse of the Werewhale. ...
Here's a little sketch to get going.
Werewhale Update: Here's the last page that I'm going to post.
BIG NEWS!: Self-published!
The Curse of the Werewhale has been sent to the printers and should be available for...
And here's a little update on the Spiderman page.
LisandroG: Thanks Lisa!
Yor: Awesome, man. Thanks
PHATandy: Hey...thanks for the suggestion. Yeah...I'm not happy with some of the larger Sound Fonts. I'm not sure if I can draw them out...
Update: Just wanted to take a break from Werewhales today. I want to fill out the portfolio with a couple of pages of recognizable characters. I might do a DC one too if there's time.
Update: New Page (this one is 2 pages after the last one I posted) I kind of experimenting with this page...seeing what works or not.
I'll be there. Can't wait to see everyone.
This year a couple of friends and I are putting together a comic called The Curse of The Werewhale. We'll probably have a few nice hard/soft covers to...
maeshanne: Heyy, thanks. Glad you stopped by.
sone_one: Thank you!
UPDATE: Here's another page. This one goes right after the Giant Eye Ball page.
