The original post is over two years old. They are making millions by now :confident
Another Dutchie (no pun intended) here...
Gentle bump one year after the last post.
Great paintings! Thanks for sharing Yousaf.
Cool...you are pushing the envelope, I admire that!
Just a heads up for anyone located in Europe. I don't know how big it is in comparison to other conventions but it seems worth visiting.
Very nice studies indeed. If there's anything to comment, it would be the second dude in #261..his arm looks a bit dislocated, perhaps too narrow. Is it from reference?
Those eye studies are really neat, especially the ones on the second page.
The CHOW is really nice too but I think the painting would benefit if you kept the eyes closer to the original drawing.
Really nice those perspective studies, especially in the last one the improvement is obvious.
Fantastic work..looking forward to see more.
Thanks for sharing.
Awesome...I like women with a helmet ;)
The reference I have here shows a bit wider than the skull -or at least the part visible from the front only- but I believe there are different construction methods around.
edit: Perhaps I should...
Indeed similar to Loomis. I've cut the sides about 3/4 off the circle but then I measured the eyes between the skull whereas I should have measured between the ears..just what Darkstrider noticed. So...
You're right, the feature proportions don't match the head. I made a mistake during construction but barely noticed and I didn't bother to double check. Better next time, I just started a new one....
Yep, it's called the 'Kono's f*ing stupid' style....LOL
I'm aware of the basic proportions but I applied them improperly (took the width from the skull and not from ear to ear for example) and now...
And the latest page in my sketchbook.
Thanks for the feedback and the encouragement guys!
I'm continuing the Reilly studies which is my favorite construction method at the moment. The following sequence starts with a sketchbook scan...
I hear ya...lol
Awesome studies Darkstrider! If there's anything to nitpick here it would be (#11) the shading of the shoulder joint and the two grenades (or whatever it is) on the chest, yours seem a bit darker...
These could be my words :)
Did you find anything yet?
I also have looked at options in Belgium...there are several art programs in Antwerp where I currently live but most of them take several...
The design and all those details....amazing! Thanks for sharing
A fantastic tutorial indeed. I'm doing constructional studies at the moment so this one is added to my resources. Thanks!
Nice studies Raśl. The revised #4 is ultracool!
Hey, this is one of my most favorite paintings too.
It really helps to map out your shapes (..everyone has been telling me this). Create a sketch before you start to paint, use guidelines, grids...
Congrats on finishing 1.1, it was helpful to see you making progress.
Cool sketchbook, the improvement is evident. Thanks for sharing man.
