I was just reading an old box of sculpey and it says you can “bulk” up shapes with crumpled aluminum foil, which makes total sense. Who'd have thought they'd let you know right on the package. Dohh!
I was wondering about styrofoam myself, not as an armature, but to block out larger shapes to conserve on clay.
