Woah, I've missed a lot! Love the girl sitting on the stoop.
LOVE IT. The face on the chin is genius. :)
So glad you started up this sketchbook. It's not just inspiring. It's nourishing. Thanks for sharing so much. Not just your work, but your story and your approach to art and life.
purb - Thanks Sir I appreciate it. That is definitely something I'd like to be doing eventually. It seems a long way off at this point. But, step by step...
Magic Man - Thank you so much. That...
r y a n o i r - Thanks for the comments. I'm just going through the anatomy book from start to finish. So, I'll be on the skull for a little while still and then on to the rest of the bones.
Wow PHATandy! I'm really not in any position to critique your work. I just wanted to say how much I really like your SB. The range of work your doing is impressive. So often you see people who do...
Angry - Thanks for the support Sir. I'm glad you like it.
PHATandy - Thanks for the comments. I can see the mistakes
clearly once they are pointed out. Thanks for taking the time.
I think I'll...
AMAZING! The Dominance War stuff is soooo good.
Wow. OK, the last few pages of sketching is really looking nice. What you did on this last page without any ref is impressive.
Yikes. You guys are right. That ear is way too small.
I was getting to close to it and worrying about the details
but not stepping back and looking at the proportions
as a whole.
Laid down a grid this time just so I could get a better look
at how the different landmarks relate to each other.
Then drew the profile features over the top.
LORD M - Thanks for checking in. Your suggestions are good ones. My first drawing will always be a detailed attempt at reproducing what I see in the book. But after that I will try to do simpler...
Hey man. Obviously a lot of hard work going on here. You are really kicking butt on those Bridgman studies.
The skateboards you painted look cool.
If you haven't already, you should check...
Haven't been here for a while.
That piece you did called "Her Scent" is really beautiful.
Hey Sir! Looks like you took quite a little vacation from this place too.
Good to see you back. I love the TigerShark guy. I'd love to see more
loose sketching like that from you.
6 sided - Hey! Nice to see another Chicago area artist. Let's definitely trade critiques. That's what it's all about here.
ANGRY - Good to see another familiar "face" here. I'm glad you found me....
That's weird, updating didn't bump my SB to the top of the list. Let's see if this one does it.
Hey Sir. Things are looking good here. First thing I notice is your lines are looking really confident.
I'm about to fall asleep. Long day.
I'll be back tomorrow and spend more time going...
LAL - Thanks for the kind words and the encouragement. Every little bit helps.
purb - Wow, that is a warmer welcome back than I ever could have hoped for. Thank you so much. :) I am indeed back...
Hey Miles. Not irritating at all. I just don't like to see someone sound so down on themselves when the work is so good. But I understand where you're coming from.
I guess it's what keeps you...
Wow. Some really nice work here. The women you paint are beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook.
OK, it's been a while since I've been hanging around CA. I miss this place.
Lately I've really had a desire to improve my life drawing and anatomy skills.
I don't have the money for classes...
It's incredible how much you've improved in less than 3 years. You've obviously worked very hard and it shows. Your current work is really looking great.
I know every artist sees all the flaws in...
Love the jungle girl! I'd buy a print of that one.
I love the little guy inside the guy's skull. What a cool idea.
