Hey guys, yet another long time without an update. lots of things I can show, lots of things I can't and as always give me a boot if anything looks out of place.

Thanks, yeah for the colour studies this time around I had very little time. They were actually quick studies done just before jobs that had similar subject matter and as soon as I said to myself "ok...

Thanks guys :)
So it's been a while, again, and I've come back with some studies that show my continued lack of proficiency with the good ol' pencil. I've been really busy lately and haven't had...
In all honesty, I'd rather just see the photo of the woman.
I'm not very knowedgable about the world of photomanips but;
- Anyone who has called what they do "photomanipulation" usually has...

Either do what swamp thing did or have her leaning against a fence in front of her or something. No one stands or walks like that.
Just FYI I think dpaint knew that and was just explaining that on top of that there could be a sort of "natural fog" that could increase the effect in the mentioned areas.
To build on Obstfelder's suggestions I did a quick paintover. The more things are turned towards the light, the lighter their shadows will be (I'm talking about the shadows that describe the form of...

First lesson; the squishy internal organs are important for our survival ;)
EDIT: As goog mentioned previously it's a subjective thing. If one of the males from this universe...

it doesn't have to be a whole hell of a lot, but a bit of a lean to a few of the poses and a slightly more intense scowl could give this a bit more impact. Swooshier background optional;
I'll refer you to an old thread that may help http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1009493#post1009493
Whenever you find yourself without an answer, that's the time to study.
Take whatever it is you're having trouble with (human body, faces, lighting) or its closest real-world counterpart (modern...
First off, welcome.
Second, the underlying drawing you have here is really nice. Good figure and face.
Third, values values values values values. Most if not all of the problems you're having...
the open jacket showing boobies and the nipple tape seems really out of place to me. Not just because normally it seems silly, it's that when things like that do work, it's when the model is oozing...
In response to this
I find that i redraw my own things 2-3 times before I consider the underlying drawing "done," and I don't even preserve my lines for a final painting.
I found that when I...
Yup. It's the type of thing that I don't usually find offensive but it really only feels appropriate if the character is;
- a barbarian
- in a self-aware pinup type image

all I have are questions; why is she floating? is she jumping? is the demon thing crying? is the demon thing evil? Are they fighting? If they are, why isn't the demon looking angry or trying to stop...
I'll get ahead of everyone else and say right off the bat; Anime is great, but its foundations are the same as damn near every other visual style; real life. The only reason we...
