For some reason it took me several seconds to decode that this image was a human figure, but upon closer inspection it became obvious! Did this happen to anyone else?
Not sure what you mean about the squiggly lines... but yes, the lens flare must go
I totally know what you mean! Lately I have tried hard to uneremphasize the shoulders so that my women don't look like linebackers, and I've met with some success. For some reason they still get...
Eyeball is definitely cool.
Work on line quality, focus on the big shapes and work your way down! :)
I'd say you're getting worn out doing what you're doing, so draw from life a bit to work the kinks out.
Where can these loomis books be found?
That last one has such a great sense of value! The head seems at odds with the neck, however. A very subtle effect, I suspect it should be tilted upward slightly. It's beautiful overall.
Thank you for stopping in! I feel guilty for being lazy about drawing in the past days. I am learning about AC motors and generators, Bode plots, etc in school and learning it all takes so much...
Something happened to the cat since the value study. It's giving the impression of 'melting' into the figure of the lady. I think that giving it value may have cost in depth.
I also am impressed.
Your construction lines look so effortless and clean... do you use any measuring tools? I can't for the life of me draw an even oval... I tend to try and freehand everything.
I like the "soft/cute yet vile" look your last creature seems to have.
Is that a rat that pirate girl is holding? Or a very strange bunny?
If there were anything I were going to "crit" I guess it might be that you may be underemphasizing the planes and edges, they can often make a good drawing 'pop' that much more. I, of course, am...
Your style has a lot of energy and character, can't quite share your enthusiasm about cylinders I'm afraid.
How did you get into cooking? I'm an electrical engineering student myself, I want to be a better artist so my life doesn't go by in a blur of mathematical symbols.
Thank you so much for stopping in. A little encouragement really goes a long way.
Haha! Yeah that's me, always trying to rush things. Especially with learning, bad habit. Can't really cut corners...
There is no denying your progress on this thread. I notice you watching your linework more in this last post, keep pushing that!
Well, here's today's miniscule amount of work. I'm amazed I even had time to do this. I got really confused while I was drawing this robot arm. It actually started out really crappy when I was...
Your sketchbook is a lot of fun. I like the imaginative bits you throw in. Do you find that you study directly out of comic books most often?
I especially like your figure drawings. I notice you're having a small amount of difficulty with hands, keep at it!
You are progressing quite nicely. I notice a significant difference between the beginning and the end of your SB. Your progress on hands is remarkable. What did you study the most to learn them so...
Always trying to get a couple of things in a day. I don't feel like I'm learning very much, although I cranked out the vampire chick in almost no time. Overall, the drawing lacks three...
Well, I've been doing a lot of homework lately so's I haven't had time to devote specifically to drawing.
However, as usual a few things showed up in the margins. I came to a realization about...
From time to time I open up your sketchbook from page one, and gradually work my way to the last page. I am quite impressed every time. You are very dedicated.
