i just purchased painter 11 .... not trying to rush anything just saying
just when you think you can stop ordering every video coming out you hit us with this info
and so do i .... again i never blamed painter i blamed my process and motives while creating this piece.....I just have not had time to post any rework of this

thanks for all the comments... i can see i let the idea of using painter 11 cloud a lot of judgements as far as my normal techniques used. I used a lot of form and massing techniques which i beleived...
this is my new illustration of wolverine confronting a bear. This is done mainly in painter 11 . I am trying to do comic book characters without looking like a comic book :)

i was kinda going for a littler than normal head
well i decided to start a series of comic book characters so here is the first... any comment at all is helpful
you may not realize this but you actual greyscale image is 'muddy' from the start.
here i just sharpened up your image with curves, contrasat and unsharp mask and applied a simply monochromatic...
ok here is the deal contact the model... she may own the rights. I have done that and then i made drawings . I gave the model copies of the file so she can make prints and sell in exchange i got...
means do you have the rights to copy someone elses photograph..... good for practice but bad for public displays or monitary gain.
still not a good idea to post copies of peoples work..... I would take the time out and personally compare your work here with the original.....how close did you honestly come? remember this is art...
just a little slpottcy watch out on color trasitions on skin it starts to look dirty quick
you can learn listen and dicipher... i just say compare it to a professionals piece and then draw you own conclusion at this point its all about what level you want to be at
actually i am not being harsh i run into the same things over and over... the truth of the matter is at some point it is easier to start over than fix... just like a house built on a poor foundation...
here is a quick sketch over for the vader pose... real quick but should give you ideas
i will be the one to suggest restarting from a sketch... the pose,propotions and shading is all wrong... get reference for everything you are drawing at this point clothes faces shoulder pads...
not just porportion but form there is no thickness to the figures. you seem to be jumping to final render way to fast work out a solid sketch first
as a movie poster i would not be interested at all to see that movie
quick question wheere are the poses from? they seem static and lifted straight out of a clothing catalog
glad you said something about background ..... not really black its also red but it was lighter and the 'magic effect' had less pop.... any ideas on that?
