Painter lets you rotate the canvas instead, much more like traditional drawing or painting. Use E to go into rotate mode, B to get your brush back and double click E to reset canvas position.
Jerik got my vote, though I too wish we could do the -no doubt complicated- multivote thing they do in CHOW as I really like quite a few of these. Most notably: Yoitisi, Golden Serpent, Darkly & Mr....

It sleds around on bone ridges using very messy egg propulsion, spits venom.
