@justa: I think you're right about changing the background to grey, only once you said it did i realize i was fighting the dominating white background.
I am struggling to create good colours that can stand out. I'm looking for some pointer and advice on how to improve my colours, any other things would be great as well.
I was hesitant in doing so because i want the main source of light to be moonlight, i think i need to find some references of moonlight.

It seems to me that the stairs and the wall architecture are different perspectives, that along with the arch being a bit off.

i remember seeing a program a few years ago on a guy who was blind from birth and could paint, mainly basic things like apples and such i saw.
