Two drawings. Same reference photo. The first one is a serious attempt at a graphtie portrait. Took about 45 minutes during Letterman. The second one is a goofy cartoon sketch. Took about 3 minutes...
This is my first attempt at a serious graphite drawing. I realize that my proportions are kinda... off, but when you do cartooning for as long as I have, it's a hard habit to break. :[
Yay for lame cameras!
One last update before I head off to math.
I almost like the sketch better. I think the background is too heavily blurred in the colour version.
I think I fixed his jaw.
His ear, too. Or made it worse. I can't really tell. I'm a bad judge of my own work.
I just realized that...
Yeah, I think I see what you mean about that.
bad photo + crappy printer = lame reference :nohope:
Just started this about an hour ago. Not really sure if there's anything I could be doing differently.
I have a framed portrait of Kramer in my den.
One of the things I noticed that happens is that a change in location provides the proper kick in the ass needed to get going again. I'll go down to this 24 hour diner down the road from me, or...
Something I drew for my friend's Birthday. Pat Groulx and Conan (She's in love with both of them. ) No references.
I think my biggest problem is proportions.
A little angle practice. I tried to keep the same basic structure throughout. Some of them turned out really bad. >:| (Bic Ballpoint)
I really like your lines, mate. Nice and clean.
Some technical notes on some stuff not related directly to the dancer.
Her tutu is still a little wonky, and perhaps a little too rigid. The fire escape is also asymetrical, and the right side (on...
I've done about two other colouring jobs in photoshop, and neither of them were all that great. I'm really not sure what I'm doing, so any crit/advice would be great.
Photo reference for...
That second one showed up twice there, mate. :\
I really like your dragons up there, mate. As a fellow Stargate fan, I find myself quite partial to Sekhmet as well. =P
Yeah, I think that's what happens when you watch too much Cowboy Bebop loll
A few more here...
Conan O'Brien (No reference)
My original character, Kyle... A little bit of Shinichirô Watanabe inspiration here... for some reason, I'm never able to notice when things don't flow right until after I scan it. :\
I really like the angles of some of those middle two. It's something that I always have issues with, myself.
These are all pretty righteous, mates! >:D
I've recently taken up doing... fanart of sorts. I guess you could call it that.
Ink lineart of Indiana Jones (will be coloured... eventually)
These are just the initial ink sketches. I eventually transfer them to watercolour paper or bristol board (which ever happens to be cheaper at the student bookstore), and go full colour with pencil.
