I'm digging those skull studies--very nice.
Loved it, in fact. Been subscribed to your sketchbook for a long time, and everything in here is awesome. Wish I could give you some meaningful feedback, but I'm just a fan-boy :)
@Wincher: Thanks, your stuff motivates me :)
@jamsession: Thank you!
@smsniper: Thanks for the feedback. I'm afraid I don't have any original book ideas--I just pick up whatever books I see...
I'm really digging that last one. The screen capture studies in #47 are awesome too. Nice well-rounded sketchbook--hope to see more!
Lovely lines; I'm jealous! As someone else who's been drawing for roughly a year, I'd say you're killing it. Keep on going!
Great sketchbook! Those building ideas are cool--some of them remind me of middle eastern urban architecture. I enjoy your outdoor drawings too. Are you still doing those?
Great sketchbook! Lots of hard work and clear improvement in here.
Thank you for the feedback! You're right, I do need to exercise my imagination more.
Sick of looking at me yet?
Ugh, does anybody else notice a dozen problems as soon as they scan something in to post?
Dumb model couldn't sit still.
I have no idea what a head looks like.
Finally got a chance to see your stuff in Hyde Park. Incredible. My wife and I loved it. I've seen your stuff here, but the subtlety in person in remarkable. I'll quit with the fanboy stuff now,...
When you consider options, don't forget about other compensation: bonuses, paid time-off/holidays, insurance, 401k, etc. Most jobs are worth more than the salary alone.
Lots of messy drawings lately; not sure what my problem is. Trying to draw cats and dogs that can't sit still for ten seconds doesn't help any.
Been reading Loomis' Creative Illustration and...
Note that bill618's advice is the usual suggestion for full-frame cameras. It works out to something like 27mm on a Rebel, because of the smaller sensor.
When I feel this way, all I have to do is look at some old drawings, and I quickly realize I wasn't as good as I remember :).
I'm trying to do more sketching from life this year, mostly quick impressions and gestures. Samples below. (The scanner and I are in a trial separation period; please excuse the lame photographs.)...
Great pictures--thanks for the post! I grew up in SE Michigan, but I don't miss that scene much :)
BTW, reminds me of this project: http://www.marchandmeffre.com/detroit/index.html
