I just thought that some hard edges were distracting, like the one where her shoulder connects to her neck, or the way the back of her neck goes from hard, to soft, back to hard again. So I guess...
I like it, but I think too many of the edges are really soft. There are only a few hard edges here, and that makes them really stand out and catch attention and it's not always where I image you want...

Just saw this through facebook, and something came to my mind, and so I came here to write about it.
So, here goes:
I don't know if someone thought of this already, but I think I know what might...

Cool stuff, Nele!
I like how you improved the diversity of the faces you draw and I also really enjoy the grayscale environment studies. I so need to study more.
I still have some issues...
Nice works! I especially like your still lifes and your use of color in them. There seem to be some problems with perspective of the ellipses in some of those, but other than that they're very good....
Study anatomy. I know it's supposed to be stylized, but he/she could at least have equal legs. You need to learn it well to stylize it well.
Also there are problems with 3-dimensionality of various...
I noticed the same thing. They all seem stretched vertically and it's particularly apparent in the legs.
Still, those are some awesome concepts! Thanks for inspiring!

Hello, girls and boys!
I'm back with a nice-sized update today! First, though, let me thank all of you who visited.
Huduu - Thanks. It's a study of Bouguereau's painting.
dog-faced - Thanks, I'm...
GiZmOthemachineking - thanks!
It's been a while since my last update. I had a bit of a break because I moved to a new apartment, but now I'm back on track and working hard to catch up with all my...
SketchBook: What happened to the regular updates resolution?
What happened to the regular updates resolution?
And I thought there for a minute that my environments were starting to look pretty good. That was before I saw this thread made of awesome.
Spectacular stuff! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

I sent you a PM about attaching the images.
If you plan to upload your finished stuff regularly, a sketchbook thread in the "SKETCHBOOKS" section might be a good idea.
Here you normally post an...
I think you could add some foreground trees or rocks or whatever to show us just where we are in the scene and how big everything is. There are some trees in the background but it's a little hard to...
Thanks, guys, I'm glad you like them!
Here are two more environments:
I think it still is too flat value- and saturation - wise. I like the cool colored light from above though. I think you probably should lose the heavy texture for now and better define the masses...

That christmas piece up there is awesome! :) You got me hooked with all those hot chicks, so now I'm going to check out the rest of the thread. And it looks like you filled the first 21 pages in...
Like I said in my thread, I like the variety in the faces and characters you design. I especially liked your colored pencils stuff on the earlier pages, but I like where you're going with your...

Hey, it's me again with some new art.
Jellyfish are so much fun to paint! You should try it!
Another weekly environment. Not that happy with this one. I'm going to have to try...
Hmmm, there was this scene near the beginning of the movie, I think, when she found a dead Ohmu exoskeleton and she'd lay under one of those eye-like things and about half of her height would fit...
Thanks guys, it means a lot!
thegrayslayer: Those environments took somewhere around 3 - 5 hours each, including some experimenting at the start. Those illustrations from the first post took maybe a...

TArnell: Thanks. Yes, everything on the last couple of pages is digital.
Okay girls and boys, here's some more eyecandy. Nothing too cool this time, though, mostly just studies, but I promise to...

Okay, I know it's maybe not the most important thing about this picture, but what is this weapon? How does one use it?
I agree, the hammer gets lost a little. I think some haze from the bright lava, between the hand and the rock would push the rock further back and separate the two. Also, I think the creature looks...
Come on, sleepy head! paint paint paint! We've got a world to take over! :)

Good job with those screencaps. They're getting better, and you're really productive, which is awesome, because I hate it when I follow a cool sketchbook and the owner just leaves me hungry for long...
