I'm sorry that I haven't kept in touch with any of my good friends here. I have a selection of recent work up on milespainting.blogspot.com. Would like any critique - email@example.com
great gouache and oil work - try some figurative work in those mediums.
very interesting eccentric form - increasingly solid. Work on volumizing in your value work.
great dramatic lighting. All of your work has a nice confidence about it. For critique, you could work on form flow, especially in sharply featured faces.
nice work. interesting and different sensitivities. Your forms are fairly stiff, though - just try some loose excercise.
Nice coloring in the last one. The eye socket is far too large - really observe the the slope from the upper nose to the inner corner of the eye and from the outer corner to the cheek bone. Also,...
good, unique sense of form. Work on volumizing your forms with the shading - I think observational drawing is all that would help that. Keep on it with the self portraits.
two studies - based on me - for a blockcut
really good form. I may have said this in my last post but work more subtlety into your line and really observe volume when shading. I don't get a great sense of space and I don't feel that any of...
wonderful improvement. And great to communicate with you again. With the watercolors I think you still tend to oversaturate, but the control is much better, and you tend to lengthen and make slabs of...
saa- I know exactly what you mean. That's been a common critique of my work and I'll be working on it.
work from the past few months
a 15 and 20 min pose
The lay in of oil seems fine but you could work on color brilliancy (exaggerate colors independently or work from a very bright underpainting) and generally on drawing, work on form flow - I think...
lines are getting so much better, along with forms. The watercolors are nice, unique painting sensibility. Great, keep on it.
Thanks for all the comments, guys, sorry for responding so late. Thank you especially for critique. I've been missing that service on these forums. So, some recent work. Been doing a lot of...
The digital painting of the woman is very promising. Nice, smooth forms - keep on it.
Eytan - Thanks. Hope I'll be seeing you this summer.
Justin - Thank you. I'll do some perspective studies - have done very little in that area. But, as note, I've been intentionally distorting...
Good attempts and study. You're getting it. Keep on.
Great improvement. Whizz-bang. You have an exceptional feeling for light in your paintings. Keep working for subtlety in drawing. Beware of unnecessary strokes.
Great work. Don't be too clean, it causes the subject to look less organic.
Nice movement in your brushstrokes. Try to communicate that to your drawings.
Be bolder about your figure studies and do much more from life. You certainly have the talent, now secure your foundation.
All this stuff strikes me as ridiculously English. Good work. You're sitting in an attractive niche.
Keep drawing from reference. Don't use photos. Life is best.
