Also adding some figure drawings. I've done a lot of really quick gestural ones lately. I think these are all between 1.5 and 3 mins. Mostly pencil and pen. The limitations of the pen really get you...
So I gave the optional study a shot. Results below.
I think it's an interesting study. Basically you try to draw the pose after getting only one brief look. Was helpful for getting analysing the...
Guardian G.I. - That's quick!
As for the optional study. The initial idea was to mimic the feeling of drawing people in, say, a cafeteria, train, or on the street. You don't get much time there...
Deadline: Sunday the 17th of August.

And more master studies.
They're also posted in this thread, , with additional thoughts and such. (see the subforum for more info on the LvLUP studies)
Dahlia - Thanks for the critique! Now that I look at it, I agree as well. It's strange how these things become so apparent when you take another good look.
Jason - Cheers! I love stumbling across...
I've been doing more lifedrawing lately!
Sessions start with quite a few quick poses (1.5min, 3min etc). Timespan increases to 15 or 20mins at most.
Time is often noted in the corner.
I'm learning many new artists! Pretty interesting.
Unfortunately I have an old (2004) photoshop, so I don't have bristle brushes. Soon I'll have a newer version and I'll try them out....

Austin Lavelle; Good gestures, and good luck on your journey! Doing gesture drawings is a solid idea, and your approach is good too. It's about the entire form, not details. It can be a good idea to...
Welcome Austin Lavelle!

I've been spending a great deal of time on studies for LevelUp lately. We'll have more 'work of our own' soon, which I'm looking forward to.
For now, lots of master studies!
zou; Thanks man! Great to see you're doing a lot of work too! I'm working pretty hard on LevelUp. I wanted to do the last robot piece completely in greyscale. And then add colour layers later on....
NoKtPapilio; Welcome, and nice work! Posemaniacs is a good place to start but 'real' figures are even better. Nice variation in your gestures! Your first few poses have a LOT of small lines and...
Hamorhage - Forgot to reply to you! Thanks, I've been doing quite a bit of life drawing lately and I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm using a pretty simple sketchbook, 24x32cm, which is slightly larger than...
Concept: Sensory symbionts
This symbiosis consists of two species: the large Brontordus and the small avian Pirillin. The Brontordus is blind but very powerful. They use tusks...
I'll be spending the rest of the day refining this one. Not sure if I can get an actual finalized picture ready. Going to be a challenge!
