and I did this to get back into my silhouette paintings, which i LOVE doing.
Here's a mario custom I finished recently. it was fun to make but VERY hard.
The base model is Nate Mitchell of Squid Kids Ink. It's really cool so google him and see it!
Realistic stuff??? HELL NO! That's what realistic artists are for! I hope to get MORE realistic a little i guess though, but I will hopefully always love cartoony creatures with bright happy colors....
bloody christ, you've improved from page 1 to 6 in this thread. (^__^) Well, I like the lineart allot but your rendering went from meh to ahh. Well on your way I see. Keep it up!
Another chipotle piece. I have hundreds of these bad boys and before I die I will probably have hundreds more. (as long as chipotle doesn't go out of bidness)
more ink and gouache chipotle menus...
sketches for a painting I did a lil while ago. post that up soon. the final came out sorta like the sketches, but not totally.
really nice death dealer holmes. and I really like that Thulsa with the hood - the fabric is handled so well. I didn't know skeletor was based of off him - that's really good trivia. I knew there...
A couple pieces I did in the b/w style I started doing a few years ago.
Photo of a car that got wrapped and a photo of a wheat pasted piece in Paris I'm pretty sure.
some real nice stuff in this thread. very loose and painterly. I agree with jskotte - that you can easily take these a few notches up with some detailed portions and refinement.
thanks lolb, i'll take that as a compliment.
here's more peach. finished up tho.
Princess peach sketch for a label I'm working on for a custom figure.
agro with the rim lighting, man. looks nice. skin has a soft render to it. your girls have a cool impish feeling. i'd like to see you put it all together in a full piece.
inkwashes i did a while ago. i had em at the top of the thread but i didn't like the thumbnail they made for, plus it became tough to swap. so i'm dumping them here.
i made shirts out of the...
i like some of the frames in that skull comic, but i really like the looseness on that last sketchbook page. i think if you go forward with comic panels, letting your line work become thinner and...
some sketches that i did and a painting that came from it.
Thanks guys. Ya, i went for screen grabs when I painted this thing a ways back to try to get the chicas gear right and cloned daft punk (those of you know don't know - they're doing the music for...
i do these whenever i get a chance. here are a few from a little while ago.
can you see that one is princess peach with a mario moustache? it's a stupid joke i have. the other one is random......
sweet palettes man. i really like the use of otherworldly colors and the fact that you're not afraid to use some of those ethereal schemes. i know there are so many colors to go to, but you've...
i did some prints of this poster recently.
crammed a bunch of old tron refferences plus some new ones too (and a wii for good measure).
the wallpaper is also reminiscent of wallpaper i had as...
this is a sketch i did for a metroid piece i'm painting.
you know.... the other other m (the first and best one...)
she wanted a pirate girl. simple, to the point.
i've been really bad about posting on here. mostly because my thread drops like a rock.
try try again... and whatnot.
i'll throw up more stuff as 2010 ends or as it gets done.
hey john - this piece looks really cool. You have some good shapes in there and some good texture and detail in the character.
That's a pretty good earthy palette you have too.
Thanks for the critique and comments. i didn't really see it before, but i would now have to agree that these pieces are one the trendy and comparatively boring side. it's tough for me to balance...
