Screens only show 72dpi. 300dpi is for print. You can keep the canvas size if you must, but a lot of people have their screens set to 800x600. Save for web at high setting is usually just fine. Saves...

Hi. Take a look at Lhunes paintover. Note the form of his left leg (our right), thigh & calf match the right leg. Same goes for the arm on that side. Right arm (our left) is rotated in an awkward...
Let me illustrate the head placement comment. Hope You don't mind the drawover.
I would suggest that the feeling of strange perspective comes from the size of the trees further back in the composition. In particular those by the horizon.

I agree that the pinch draws the eye, but I like the curve just inside the pinch. Lends the image a nice flow leading the eye towards the face.
Maybe add a slanting root-like part behind it using...
