Some figure practice stuff. Was very fun. =D
Some practice sketching in OC4.
Another perspective practice in OC4. Decide to play around and draw in a car.
This is something I work on and off in between doing study/practice stuff. Started off as a b/w sketch with a white bg but started listening to Tron Legacy OST.
Also turned off opacity pressure in...
Perspective Practice from this evening.
Line tool and fill bucket mostly.
Portrait of friend's daughter done from a phone cam photo. Lot of fun to do. Few perspective mistakes that I'll be sure to work harder about in the future.
Done in open canvas 4.
Finally getting around to updating my SB once again!
Portrait of a friend done from an old photo.
Some quick imaginative sketches for a Film-Noir idea I've been having.
3 point perspective + photoshop practice.
Also picked up Carl Dobsky's video from MB's site, very awesome! Will try and practice his lessons/tutorials soon =).
Completely love the animal stuff!
Some more ink, pencil, and a few charcoal sketches from the Gentleman's Club Stock. I should have noted that those stock photos are usually 60-70+ years old! Very fun to sketch from if you want to...
Stuff from new sketchbook I got this week, and some quickie tablet sketches tossed in for fun.
These are mostly quick sketch studies from photos you can find at...
Updating with some bic pen Bridgman studies. Added a few Hampton pages as well. Have about 60 pages in my sketchbook of this sort of stuff so I only scanned a little over a dozen to post.
Like the progress so far. A few tips on the figures would be to lay down a simple gesture first then build some forms using simple shapes (box, cylinder, sphere).
This should wrap up the Bridgman hand study for the moment (drew every hand in both the books of his I have). Think I did about 20 pages of them in my sketchbook heh. Definitely learned a lot. Start...
Small update of some gesture study from Michael Hampton's book, Figure Drawing Design and Invention. Only had a chance to read the first few pages and wanted to get something drawn for today. So a...
Some more Bridgman hands. Wanted to do another page but my wrist started hurting a good bit. Starting to get a feel for the palm/wrist/thumb. Fingers still feel a bit difficult to do.
Love all the portraits!
Hey thx for stopping by!
Very nice SB you got going on. Love the paintings you've done. Definitely seeing some improvements from the studying. Keep it up!
Some tips for the figures is to try and pull out more curvy lines to loosen yourself up. Also for form defining imagine a string wrapping around the surface (draw it as well!). Once...
Quick messy Simblet study (20-30m) I did the other day.
Retrothomas- Glenn Vilppu's procedural technique I think is the best for figure drawing. You can see it here...
Very nice sb! Really like the way you paint.
Nice sb, really like the watercolors. Looking forward to more posts =).
More Bridgman studies in bic pen. Gone through all the hands in Constructive Anatomy and started the ones from Complete Guide to Drawing From Life.
@Basham - Heh, I've been trying to keep on top...
Awesome sketches. Love the characters and style.
