I do like the cloud design, they are different and give off a surreal impression, though if you were looking for a realistic view you may want to consider making it more wispy, fluffly as said above...

Forgot Istvan Pely, concept artist for fallout 3, i always look at the same book over and over for inspiration, i find it really helps me :)

The final image is actually pretty decent, usually i study Loomis' work and others similar and just keep practicing and practicing, it usually seems to do the trick :)

Yep loomis is a great foundation artist, i believe he has PDF's online of his other books too so keep studying :D

yes i agree with everyone who says rembrandt, to me he seems to paint the gloom rather than upper class, posh paintings we are familiar with today.
