Hey, you've improved a lot since the last time I looked on your SB! Nice going!
Drat it. I have some catching up to do! =^P (No, my own SB is inactive still; I deleted the sketches, in fact.)
This is something you think about, maybe know subconsciously and try. But, until you see it written down, until you see it experienced through the eyes of another, it doesn't really hit home; the...
Thanks for the comments.
Yep, I have been struggling with it; my scepticism stems from the techniques used in the few I have studied in detail -- techniques that don't work for me.
Never mind. (^_^)
Had a little time tonight to make some corrections -- crown of the head, for one. Still working on the fabric folds between arms and breasts. Also need to add fabric folds between them. And the scarf...
Points noted. I may work at home tomorrow, so I can also work on this sketch (I like it). (^_^)
Quick sketch (I can see the improvement points):
It occurs to me that I need to explain something prior to posting any more work; and this is more rant than explanation. And if this makes waves, so, be it. Btw, no flames, no insults, and absolutely...
Thanks for your comments.
Nice collection. You can really see the improvements from the first post to this latest one.
The overall thing I've noticed, however, is the perspective with respect to anatomical...
Wow! Brilliant stuff, but very creepy in a sense! (^_^)
Improving already. Always a good sign. I'd suggest letting the lines flow, too. Seems like you're too rigid. And if you want to prop the drawing pad up, use a tray or a chopping board or similar...
ROFL! Nice one!
I spend most of my time between the Crit Centre, Sketchbooks and here. Mostly at work when I do my crits, so, they're short. That, and I'm not at a high enough level to provide...
The forms are looking good. Would suggest slowing down, though, and really thinking about your lines and shading.
Hey, nice improvements! You can really see the work / efforts. And comparing the first post with the latest, IMO, you've improved lots.
I have noticed that the eyes, from the front view, are...
IMO, anatomical proportions are off, even allowing for the challenging angle. For me, the perspective is also off. To sort out these two things, you might use boxes or blocked forms as proportion and...
Yeh! What Jamesy said! :p
Would you stop giving me story ideas? I have enough bombarding me right now I can't keep them straight and you go and give me another lot! :P I might answer this. Don't know yet. (^_^)
I'm not sure how much detail you're going for, but aside from the straight lines, I think the lack of weathering on the buildings is one thing bugging me. Maybe add a little in? (If it's relevant.)
As a long-time fan of (and dabbler in) the art form, I can say I've seen part of it change (Not that old!) from what is now seen as primitive (I have access to very early manga), to its 'advanced'...
Just a note about this:
Er... do I have the right Avatar show?
I do agree that that image requires more work, particularly when talking about the sword and hilt alignment, plus the symmetry.
However, not all manga / anime art so noticeably needs more work....
Drat it. I have to find that link. :p
Just heard about this forum. I am an alleged homo sapien of the female persuasion. (^_^) Could you allow me access, please? Many thanks!
Ooh! You're getting really good. I need to do some catching up (and some surpassing ;) :p )
