Thanks, everyone! Some really good stuff. I'm in the middle of a move right now, but hopefully I'll get started on this over the summer.
Anyone have any thoughts about part 2, the structure?
To give you a sense of my werewolf, here are some flavor sketches. I'll likely post more, and get some mask sketches up as well.
The general idea is that this is less of a wolf head on a person as...
Howdy all! :mod:
I've been throwing ideas/designs around in my head and on paper for a while now. I want to make a werewolf mask, of my own design. My earlier model fell apart, and I realized I...
Back in town which means finally time for more work on this thing.
(I might put it away for a while, however, as I plan to make a mask for Halloween that I need to get started on)
I was doing the same, and actually read about Sculpey firm after I had started. Let me know how it goes--it sounds like it may have been the better choice.
Oh well, next sculpt!
I'm really excited about where things are going--I will try to post more photos tonight.
Started doing spikes and claws with some old fimo.
Also made stamps--talk about easy texturing! I've made a...
Will love to see how this continues to be fleshed out.
What are you using on the claws?
I agree with GDragon, and I'd suggest the back leg texture over the neck's, or perhaps some nice combination...
Looks great. Excelent form on the face, especially.
How is super sculpey firm?
Did you sculpt the scales individually by hand? If so, what tools do you recommend? (I'm working on a dragon and need...
Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
The stamps seem like a great idea...I've already picked up some things to make some with :)
Fimo might be good for spikes. I was thinking green putty too, but...
This is a personal work. When done it should be a little over a foot in length, and with wings I'm thinking 1.5' high.
I used wire and aluminum foil as a base, with metal tubing for joints as you...
This is really my first full-on commitment to a sculpture in super sculpey, and it's coming along well so far. A lot of the tutorials here and elsewhere have helped immensely. Hopefully people can...
I have to agree with complete2.
you could at least highlight a chin or the bridge of the nose, if you want to preserve the dramatic lighting.
I think you could also get some more interesting value...
those first couple remind me of the pfhor from marathon (reachin way back with that, hope i'm not the only one who remembers that game)
i have to say i dunno what's going on with the balance in...
yeah i;ve done a bit of scanner mixing, but it's annoying. :)
and i have a digitial camera, i just sucks. i need a new one :[
i have painted some, but not lately. unfortunately, i have yet not figured out a way to scan them.
my idea? "Conrad"
it just kinda came to me.
maybe a heart of darkness allusion, but really it sounds kinda cool.
plus you have the sound with "conrad likes kitties"
great critter, by the way
the green background one has to be my personal fav. you've got digital down better than I ever have, and I guess it's your preference, but you might, as bojee says, try some traditional stuff. just...
thanks :) yeah i don't get too many replies. meh, it's cool :^^:
wow thirdeye, how'd you get some of those great darks on that one? damn...
some newer ones of mine:
okay not the really old ones...i posted those a long while back
in no particular order (except for the end, newer ones)
sounds like your gonna need a hell of a renderer for some of that...and those folks rarely do stuff "for fun." but good luck, sounds sweet
you could try upping the contrast to see where the shades would be..
pretty sweet. and i've had the same trouble with the elusive goat sucker. drew a quickie the other day too...i'll have to do a full version soon and post it. mine doesn't have spikes...
i like the...
