I think Epson inkjet is certainly the best choice for art/photography.
I use a 2200 and it works great for anything up to 13" wide.

I have a wooden drafting table with a 1/4" piece of Lucite clamped to the top. It works great for pencil work,
and if I'm going to get messy with paint I just take the Lucite off and use the wood...
I trained in Aikido for 10 years or so (1996-2006).
I also used to lift weights 3-4 days a week, I even competed in a few strength/strong man type competitions.
Haven't done either for a few...
