JJ, great stuff! I think you should close down lines to define shapes(in some areas). It was hard for me to read them.
Great depth in your pieces, but something is missing to really pop them.

Those hand studies are really good. It seems that when you really concentrate you can do it well, so next time you draw a character, concentrate on hands as well.

i think the dark shading within the distant areas is acceptable, i see alot of good artists do that. and i think your Gun-bot looks awesome.
i'll be putting new images on the first post. some of them are WIP's and some will be abandoned.
I agree about the pose. It was a project for my drawing class where we had to find a nude life drawing by famous artist and redraw it and fully clothe it. We had to pick a pose that was not standing....
