SketchBook: i'm absolutely loving the way you made that...
i'm absolutely loving the way you made that palette scan into a painting. cheers :) keep us updated :eyecandy:
another update, small step forward:
the most disturbing is i think the giant gap between hard-edged straight lines and scribbly lines. photoshop selection tools show too much that it looks like you made a tighter image than scriblled...
thanx a lot for the crit stoph. that was really helpful. i tried some different textures for the cloth, but wasn't satisfied myself. i am going for a bit glossy but definitely not metallic like. i...

in addition to those above, i think the cropping makes the composition too cramped. seeing the rest of her hand and more of her legs would be better i guess. hope that helps :)
here's an update, it's coming along i guess  thanx for the replies so far :)
here's an update:
i had hellboy/the amazing screw-on head type characters in mind but now that you mention it, i think team fortress has influenced it too. i recently read its review, i guess that was in my...
hi, i've been working on this image a couple hours now. i'm not very sure about everything but the mask (my inspirations were mignola, ashley wood and daarken's work by the way), but my purpose is...
dogfood--> i was careless about the openings, my bad. thanks for the heads up. as for the angle of the arm, i think u're right, i'll update if i got to work on it. thanx for your time ;)

elwell --> is that a trick question? the main light is coming from the top...
decided to paint an old sketch of mine. hope u like it. c&c are very welcome.
been ages since i posted anything here. this is the last piece i finished, after a looong delay. didn't give much thought to the design as much as i like but the purpose was solely painting practice...

they both look great i think.
i liked the colors (maybe a little bit more contrasting colors look better).
the work in details is great in the second one, but in the first one may take a bit more...
i agree with the crits. but it is a nice design anyway. would love to see a full body version too ;)
these are really nice. i'm digging the first and the last ones most. nice mood in the enviros. keep up the great work :D
i think the wings are too small. also either he should be on the right side of the page or the sword is in his left hand, so that we could see the whole weapon.

i agree with the above comments, also i think the faces may need a bit more work. especially in the first one, the eyes are looking in different directions.

this was done around september 2004...
