Here is a couple more concept/Marketing shots for the Unreal Tournament mod "Planetstorm" I was working on recently.
It's part of the "Angels Fall First" Scifi Universe being developed by a bunch...
"the anatomy ain't 100% but that isnt the biggest issue at the moment. I fixed the parts my teacher said to fix and then colored it"
Mmmm... I think it is the biggest issue at the moment!
I think your color is by and large spot on. The complimentary mauves and blues work a treat at the top of the pic. At first I thought the light from the candle was too strong but it doesn't distract...
To be honest critique wise I could only nitpick as there are no major issues to highlight at all.
You've obviously got an artist's eye as the detail around the face is well picked out. I can see...
I think it's a simple case of trying to be too clever with the perspective.
This would work fine if you just stick with one point perspective rather than add a second vanishing point past the...
For some one who has no idea what there doing that's not bad at all considering the level your at.
I think the strongest point is the torso. You can tell you've paid some attention to capturing...
I recently pitched some work to Black Library publishing, who create a lot of printed books and Novels from the Warhammer Universe.
I received this critique from their Design...
First off tell me the story behind this pic.
For example why is this assassin style character perched on the very top of a small peak? why isnt he feeling the cold?
Every good pic has a...
I still think your missing the core issue.
It still doesn't say to me military base environment.
At the moment it says "Gate patrol" or "Base Gate". Try a different perspective/composition...

Well many moons later I've finally finished it.
I'm really pleased with this, I laboured hard over it and saw it through bit by bit.
I'm pitching for work with Black Library books and this pic...
First off, a detailed background will detract in a big way from the Wolf, which is the dominant foreground subject.
"Hint" at a background if you are going to include one, perhaps...

What a talent.
Your ability to take and make what could quite easily be straightforward and plain environments and make them in to some real eyecandy makes me envious.
Lots, lots more please....

Superb collection all in one place. Truly inspirational stuff.
Why not hint at a seascape background?
Use subtle silouettes to sugest a landscape in the background. Try and accomplish this with dark blues, greens and browns rather than a flat black which is...
Real easy. You've added a bright thin highlight on the lip of the bottom eyelid. If you check the photo you can see it isn't there! just remove it and check the result.:confident
Here's my two pence worth, hope you dont mind.
The mountain ridge line behind the temple needed removing I thought, this gave more...

First painting period? my compliments that's fantastic.
The handling of tone is very good. Proportions on the face are good.
Nice choice of Highlights on the nose and left eye.
The shape of...
Yep the right forearm needs sorting out. It should rest on a lot more on the right thigh than at the moment. It looks very tucked in to the stomach and if that were the case the right elbow should...
"Chuckle" I'm going to need to see a photo of the subject before I can hand out advice I'm afraid!
Also how are you planning to interpret the subject? straight copy with existing light? Do you...

Well for someone who has only been arting for a year thats pretty good.
The two light sources both warm and cool are handled nicely. The composition is simple and dynamic.
My only major crit is...

Hi everyone thanks again for the recent comments they deserve this post showing my progress so far.
After more extensive thumbnails (which Ill post later) I'm well on my way to a finished piece.
The movement is there, the spread of primary colors is there, your close, so close.
Just redfine the torso, sculpt it more, get the curves in there, define that chest, the abs and the left bicep,...

Thanks everyone for comments so far.
Reflecting and looking at my original scamps I can see I only took them to about 60% of the journey. The missing 40% is evident in the final piece!
