the tread systems on your mechanical WIP feel a bit weird, the areas where each tread would join to another with pins feel a bit funny and or non functional. Last but not least they are also missing...

Nice studies! I would watch your value ranges a bit, try and keep them a bit closer together so when you do use lights and darks, you don't have to go that much farther up or down on the value scale...
