That situation sucks. The best revenge is living well. Keep on improving and you'll force yourself to feel better : )
That's my dime-store life advice for today
Dude! You're leveling up fast. Colors are sharp but I agree with maths, your paintings are way too dark.
Try to stay away from going completely black. Use the levels option to balance your values....
yellow robot is a cool start.... he just goes to black waaay too quick : ) I understand the lighting set up, and the drama of the extreme light/shadow, but there's lots of value space in...
hey man. some pretty nice stuff going on here. especially post 39, 40 n 43 with those gradually changing backgrounds struck me. and the last one. good shapes.
I love your imagination! Work on that anatomy though. Keep up the good work!
Post #39 looks great, more stuff like this please ... and the anatomy in 37# is coming great, love the fluid lines
Hey, man. Been busy, I see. Loving the new approach on the latest stuff.
Great job that gunslinger and the silhouette on that guitarist is awesome. Metal all the way!
Man, the way you light you scenes are pretty cool and your ability to remember all those anatomical muscle structures is just remarkable! One of the things which happens as we develop as an artist...
well, dont we all? Like all things in art it requires practice, and not being affraid to mess something up. Motion blur has a lining effect, so theres a directional element to it. that last piece of...
The true Bridgman spirit has really started to rose within you,
I like those sketches. And the short route for the gunman on this

Wretched Hey Wretched, thanks for the long comment!
It's a really nice genre to experiment in, since it's kind of wild and crazy. Draw it man! Yeah, it's always good that it's brought up so I don't...
There is not a single artist on this forum that hasn't gone through it.
My advice is, for the time being, draw something safe. Something you love and have fun with. For me it's cartoony stuff.
We read "Art and Fear". Try it.
But more importantly that frustration motivate us to find answers and work hard...in what we feel is the right direction for each of us individually. It's no fun...
Wretched: hope you don't mind, but i changed the text to half hassed, its really hard to make out but it made me laugh :D
Stormslegacy: thank you, and i can see where you are coming from with the...
Sometimes it helps if you always have some work-in-progress where you can just drop in and continue working on it where you left off... Starting any project is always harder than continuing...
Oh, shouldn't the troll's arm be visible behind the trees under the archer's armpit?
Wow, amazing progress from the original piece. It looks a great deal better.
First know the anatomy, and the form (brigdman), as you draw constantly from life. When you draw distinguish bone, tendon and muscle from one another. Make sure you understand that muscles are in...
Hey man, good to see the progress on this piece.
Hope you don't mind, I've done a quick paint-over to show a few small fixes which I think could bring your image together. Again, hope you don't...
As said by Wretched
I think as long as there's improvement or development i'll be fairly happy. Art in general is good medium in that regard, because its easy to see that you're doing better and...
Background - My name is Jonathan Barker and I'm a 4th year student at Sheridan College. I take Illustration - majoring in Scientific and Technical.
I'm finishing school (I'm Done In April 2013)...
Wretched: Thanks! Yeah John English was wonderful, I got so much out of his critique. Now I just need to work harder on applying it.
I found my indie team on the SomethingAwful forums, I just...
I'm loving the new colors, looks a lot more like he's found some heroes hiding in the forest now. I also understand your highlighting the hero, but maybe the lower part of him can be darker ?
