Keep updating - you have a real eye for these portraits. Some of them are very strong.
Your are definitely showing improvement - keep at it Adam. Try finding a life drawing class locally if you can

Great sketch book, I enjoyed looking through it. Your portraits are looking strong. I think with figure drawing you would be well served by simplifying and focussing a bit more on gesture. Maybe look...
Series of studies, mostly from imagination some referenced. All of it very quick. Did these over last few night shifts at work in brush pen or ball point.
Some really inspiring work and great advice in here Kevin. I'm planning on leaving work this September to study at one of the London ateliers. Seeing your stuff has got me motivated.
Why is this website down all the time?
I've been all over the place with art recently. Sometimes it feels like I'm getting worse - very frustrating. I still can't decide which path I should take -...

Life caught up a little bit over the last two weeks. I've been busy viewing houses, catching colds and looking at new cars (mine is wrecked.) Didn't do any art for four days which isn't good. Here is...

Fernando - Thanks for looking. I actually prefer using the .9mm - I can get them pin sharp and the lead seems to stay that way for longer too. As for charcoal all i can really say is don't try to use...
Really good attempts with that conte pencil on your previous post. I particulalrly like the ones where you have used contour lines and the other one with the negative space is nice.
Some good studies in here - keep it going
Haven't got quite as much done as I would have liked the last couple of days. Been pretty busy with work. Did manage to finish this Bargue plate, straight onto the next one as I'm not particularly...
Razz - it definitely teaches you patience, I've not spent 100 hours on anything yet but some of the upcoming torso drawings will come close I think.
V3T - Thanks!
Another big update. Been working nightshift all week so haven't had time. Sorry for the massive amount of stuff.
This is the most recent Bargue plate. It wasn't so long ago I decided not to get...
Finished Bargue plate.
Will scan and upload better quality attachment later.
Here is a better quality scan (took 5 attempts, still looks wrong - wtf is up with my scanner?)
Quick update showing progress on current Bargue plate
Going well so far. Will scan this one once its done.
V tight linework, great studies. Are you always using reference for the hands? Either way I'm impressed.
You have a really good eye for light - particularly your last few posts. The Reubens / Da Vinci study is very tight - well done!
