Ok, so I'm not very good at keeping things up to date (not an excuse).
On top of that my scanner died and has just been replaced (poor excuse).
I'll master it yet!
In the mean time - couple of...
a little progress
Hi, I'm Jon.
It's a new year, I've a new tablet and some fresh inspiration - seems a good time to start a new sketchbook. Especially since I hadn't updated the old one since 2011.
I'm going to...
A year since my last post :(
I'm working in London at the moment and have taken to carrying a sketchbook with me.
here is hopefully the first of many updates.
Its a bleak little sketch...
not entered a ChOW for ages! probably wont finish but here's my 1st Wip...
Awesome as ever, particularly like the eyes on post 318!
I Know, I know, I haven't been updating as often as promised.
To make up for it I have this piece - It was inspired by a sculpt from studio Mcvey. Its still in the early stages but I figured now...
wish I could give some crits but you're better than me and I can't see anything that i could help with.
Keep it up! :-)
Nooo! I've not entered ChOW for ages and I really want in on this one.
Naturally this week looks so busy I dont have time to turn round! Must... try... submit... something!
I'm falling behind on the resolution to update regularly already :(
I'll post something soon, promise...
right, Think he's done, excluding any errors that people would like to point out.
some tidying to do. he's meant to be a dwarf (a la Tolkien) mafiosi. let me know what u make of him.
sketches look good - perhaps more western than futuristic though...
are you meant to storyboarding or concept designing?
some further progress.
a wip of one of the sketches above. i think i'll call him Midas.
1. practice more often
2. get some one to model for pics more often than i have til now.
3. update more frequently
4. try to draw scenes rather than just characters
5. enter more CHOW.
Hey, thanks for the post.
One of my resolutions this year is to practice harder and update more often. So hopefully next time you do so it won't go unanswered so long! :)
Your stuff is still...
It's ages since i've had a go at Chow, but this i couldn't resist
I'm never gonna get this finished in time :(
dressed as Hypnos, greek god of sleep, combines my facsination with ancient greece...
The head of your last character paint looks a little small compared with her body. Full of energy though, wish I had your talent.
a little more progress on the steampunk warrior woman...
not posted for a while so felt an update was in order.
The first one started out as a rough doodle of some sort of goblin or troll, I think it turned out quite well.
She's a pretty good sketch, but the proportions on her neck and her left arm look a little off. Neck looks a bit heavy, arm a bit thin. Hope that helps!
Umm...Wow! what a fantastic SB! I love the Wizard/Mage painting, the vibrant colour and the lighting with the slightly worried expression make it really striking! :)
Choose one movement from Holst's Planet Suite and portray it as an appropriate character, for example Neptune would be a mystical figure such as a prophet or seer.
So everyone can...
I think I'm regressing. Ive just read Castle in the Air by Diana Wynne Jones (she also wrote Howl's Moving Castle). Its supposed to be for kids, but its a fun read nonetheless. Anyway it inspired...
