Try to get a widescreen one(6x11 inches), it's bigger and has much better proportions. Maybe keep an eye on German and US Ebays?
Awesome! Love the pink/green chick and the last one!
Looking good! I really like how you rendered the clothing and the overall atmosphere of the image. Some ideas though: What is that white thing around the neck that seems to be illuminating the...
When coloring try not to have too dark or too bright values. Apply a semi-translucent gray layer over the image to lower the contrast and jump in with the overlay layer to color the image. At least...
No, 3000x3000 image is 4 times bigger than 1500x1500 and will take 4 times more resources. The dpi doesn't matter at all, you can change that number to whatever you need.
I'd start with 150 or even less, then upscale and finish the work at 300 then upscale to 600 at the end and maybe add few details. 7800x11400 is a ridiculous resolution. You may have enough ram but...
A finished piece and some sketches:

Love your work. Your traditional work is also amazing, you might want to link it!
Some quick fixes and wips for the snowmancer
Yep, you're the first one to find it :assspank:
Started working on this one today so didn't really have time to participate in wip thread.
Mr. Petkovic, that is insane.
Sorry for the last minute post. Had big plans for this one but ended up with a giant hair dryer.
This is amazing, fantastic works :asspat:
I think I must try this!
Mateja, you can't shadebox a tablet pc though :sungod:
Pick some good reference photos(pick similar angle, similar color, similar shapes, desired lighting and surroundings) and try to transfer the information to your drawing.
Also study the works of...
Thanks mate, but the stuff on top of this page is almost 2 years old :davi:
I dig your traditional work. Really nice Bridgman studies! For digital I would definitely slow down and focus more on structure and drawing. Good luck with the portfolio!
I like the gangsters! A quick tip though, try adding a bit of color variety to the skin tones. For example desaturate the chins to make it look like they actually grow facial hair, redder...
Love your work, Steve!
This was done for a speedpainting battle, 2 hours and the theme was a sci-fi portrait.
You guys are running an awesome blog. I've been following it for a while now!
Ooh, I like it. Only the wrist leather armor bothers me a little. Seems a bit carelessly painted compared to the rendering of the cloth. You could try painting some subtle cool indirect light from...
This is insane where this thread has gone over the years. I've been wanting to ask one question though. When you paint ten moleskine pages a month then how do you dry the oils. Do you use some quick...
