Great idea for a topic, I can't wait to see the entries!
They are nice, but I think they'd be greatly improved with a bit of blending. Some of the edges are so harsh, they look unfinished. Like a paint-by-numbers thing.
Good start, keep practicing!
Look at the shape of her far eye compared to what you have drawn.
I assumed he was pointing Talonzz to the mentoring thread...
The reason your sketch looks traced is because (a) all the lines are the same weight, and they end suddenly, rather than tapering off,...
You draw really beautiful boys :D *drooling*
All of your faces are facing the same direction, and all of your figures except one are also facing the same direction, i.e. slightly left. I suggest playing with pose a bit more to emphasise traits.
Your style is very cute - I like it! The only critique I have is the feet - I'm sure it's a style choice, but sometimes they just look too small...like you didn't want them to exist.
The colours are oversaturate to the point of being garish. Which is a pity, as this is quite a nice little piece. The face structure is flat and the limbs are tubey.
There's a great tute on...
Wow, the drapery! Seriously, some great studies here :)
I love the way you develop form with shading, it's just amazing. I'm envious!
As far as I know, the first drawing you attach in your first post will be the thumbnail.
I like your figure studies, lots of life :) And that guy with the little boots and gloves is quite sexy.
The wolvy painting is nice I think because of the lighting. It's got a lovely mood, even if it is sketchy :)
SSChan - my partner says that is a pron star moustache! It is ridiculous, and I love it :)
DeKal - organic, ok. I will try to be a bit more flowy :)
Lewis - Good suggestion, I'll do that....
I like your figure work, especially the chick in the dancing pose. Really nice movement and life!
Wow, your rendering is just beautiful. I love the 60's-style pinup girls, and your vampire is hawt :) I'm envious of the delicious smoothness of your pencil work. Please post more!
I really like your people studies, these are gorgeous! Did you ever finish the lass on the horse?
*sigh* Your people are amazing. They have so much life and reality. I'm charmed and envious :)
That's fabulous, and so apt...
You've got some great studies going - that's what I need to do :) And your hippo-bird made me smile!
Wow, I love the chick with the sword - can I have her boots? And I really like the pic of the big nasty guy and the girl leaning on his knee.
If you don't mind me asking, how big is that pic? ...
Wow, I wasn't expecting a reply so fast. N1va, thank you for the nice welcome :) I'll work harder on lips. JFierce, I see what you mean - eyes too big, or maybe face too small, since I tend to...
I'm trying to improve my people rendering skills because, frankly, they suck. So starting with the basics, just drawing faces until it all gets better. Loong way to go.
As you can see, just...
Neither leg position looks particularly attractive, mainly because her back is so stiff. There's no flow in the pose to make it look like an action pose.
Try drawing some sweeping action lines,...
