Thanks to everyone who brought these sites to my attention. I was in desperate need of resources like these for my own work/study. I'm having a good time with these.
I can certainly say that doing this contest helped to make me a better artist.
Final bits of color added. Unlike last time I've used a lot more and different colors, as well as used my lightest sketching gray for a background.
I think this turned out a lot better...
I would rework the tongue if you have the ability to so. It looks a bit since it goes from "narrow strip" to "wide tongue" while doing the whole forked tongue thing as well. Otherwise...
Your character is looking wonderful. It certainly does bring emphasis to the fact that things are not as they are perceived, and does a good job of expressing what the parents would see.
New try, applying some techniques I'm learning. I'm probably going to be months getting up to an intermediate level.
Well, I did anatomy studies for about 15-30 minutes before beginning it and used a wooden mannequin for the pose. I'll give it another try before the deadline.
Is it bad that even without watching it I know which anime that's from?
Beautiful work, by the way.
When I get stressed I default to my preference for dieselpunk. I lost the first go around due to the hazards of working with ink.
I'll probably try for another image before the...
A selection of things for Wednesday.
An elf girl in 1920s clothing. Will probably be more of this coming down the pipe, since I'm fascinated with the period.

So a major part of why I joined ConceptArt.org is the fact that there is because I need a lot more motivation to keep studying than what I have found in other places. So, in addition to participating...
For my own $.02, I would say try to make her seem more alien. You've got the base down and I love it, but so far it just looks like she's a normal older woman with a gerbil crawling up her leg. If I...
The bottom center one is the color scheme that I would describe as the 'winner', which made all of the experimentation worth it. This also marks the finish of my first attempt to use a dip...
I'm not really emphasizing the succubus angle this go around, at least nothing beyond the generic "If gingers don't have souls, then LET ME BORROW YOURS!" sort of thing.
Well, it would give me something to do with that copy of Photoshop Essentials that's laying around on my harddrive. Next stage should come in easier, since I will be working in pen and ink and it...
Greyskill, your murdersitter is adorable.
Well, here's my first go at a contest like this. Scanning from my sketchbook is a bit more trial and error than I like, but I think I've done decently...
I'm not afraid to admit that I'm a fairly young artist, and that I'm probably bad at the whole 'making art' thing. I don't necessarily view it as a bad reflection upon myself, since it just means...
