I think you need to pratice more anatomy and also focus in your line quality when your start draw. btw i think that youre doing great on those studys.

Good exercises for capturing gesture keep making there as much as possible its a very good warm up exercise.

Keep at those anatomy studies! I see loomis, bridgeman, and Ron Lemen's awesome Reilly method abstractions in there, and I think that's where you're stuck a bit; the best looking studies look like...

don't just copy them, but think while painting :)
So many portraits here, I think u need more quick gestures and probably some academic contraction in it, cause u wont copy pics all the time (i suppose).
Skin's hard to paint. Nice colors! I think the open eye came out great. Like someone said on the last page, try to use a bigger brush than you think you need. All the tiny strokes and little textures...
