An EoW concept, elemental dragon hatchery (Earth)
Some of those hands are really good. Good proportions and gesture, nothing beats good drawings of hands!
Your doing a lot of stuff so you cant really go wrong. Just keep working hard and doing whatever you find hardest and youll improve!
Keep it up! Good start too.
@ PHATandy, thank you so much!
You're right, tho sometimes I feel like I'm all over the place jumping from one thing to another.
Some more stuff, 40 min speedpaint based on the fear of falling....or something. I wanted to play with some textured brushes.
1 hour speedpaint inspired by Assassin's Creed (I'm addicted to that franchise)
Hey e-nat thanks for stopping by my sketchbook. I think you are on the right track here. The figure sketch of the woman in the dress is my favorite of yours so far. Keep working on gesture drawings, value, color studies daily. When doing thumbnails try to think of them in shape and value instead of line. You have some good compositions but at its base composition is a pattern of light and dark shapes, so its good to get in that mind set from the start. Doing a bunch of little comp studies from life just blocking in value can help you progress quickly. Keep on posting and I'll check back in :D
@ Ninjac, you're definitely right. Thinking in terms of form/value instead of line is my greatest weakness. I should do more value and color studies! Thanks for the suggestion and the comment, I hope I'm doing this right :D
Value studies from photos. Done this evening, 5 mins each. Theme = Island/sea. I struggled with bounce light on the water, will have to research it more.
Some older thumbs (one month old)
One minute hand studies from photos, done today.
Life drawing, done a couple of weeks ago.

Fashion photo study of shop mannequins, done yesterday. (I pity the one on the right, bad proportions are bad)
Quick character design, also done yesterday.
Preliminary sketch for a commission (Paint tool SAI)
Critiques super welcome!:yayca:
Value studies, 5 mins each Theme= Forest
1 hours speedpaint
1 hour. I copied the colors from the source photo, so this study might not count completely :( Next time I'll try to select the colors by judgment.
I started the evening with these, 1min and 2 min gestures warmups (pixelovely)
Fashion blog/ mannequin studies, the next step is to go a bit more in definition!

One more, done for a commission.
50 minute sketch. A bit generic, I wasn't sure what I wanted at the beginning so I lost a bit of time.
You're killing it on the thumbnails... those are great (I can't do them so well... they end up being a mess).
This life drawing is quite good, too.
I LOVE your life drawings and your characters! Really wish I could draw like you, but my sketches always come out fugly. Oh well I'll keep trying. Great job on your sketches! :D
Nice! Really nice sketches! Keep pushing with grayscale value, trying to get some great light. And after them u can add some color. But without correct value color is nothing) Keep it up!
@ Psage, Thank you! My thumbnails look like a mess too when I start painting, it's only after a few tries that they start shaping up.
@ america220, Thanks so much! I saw your sketchbook, it's not that bad ;) sure you need to practice a lot but practice applies to everyone without exception :P
@ n1frit, Indeed I agree. Right now the values are kind of muddy, gotta push them contrasts more.....without having the picture look cartoony lol...now that's a challenge.
More practice, I wanted to paint some value studies but my eyes are killing me. No more computer for now. But here's what I was able do earlier today (at work heheh). Ballpoint pens are love

Some character sketches (digital)
An attempt at a cityscape.
Nice start! I'm looking forward to seeing more. :sungod: (...and cripes, yet another person who has an ability to clothe their wonderful imaginary people well... I think I got guy genes in that regard. :P )
@ Pixie Trick, Thanks! heheh All that fashion blog stalking has to be useful somehow.
My first still life ever!! 30 minutes...I'm so proud (even tho it looks ..... extremely childish, and I forgot to add that "OPUS" logo on the metro card. oops)
This was my first assignment in a digital painting class. I panicked midway and made too many mistakes, so I erased, repainted and wasted a lot of time :(. But I did learn a thing or two about value and interest points :).
The figure in this last post looks kind of flat, as if cut out from paper. Get reference for stuff like that, will improve a lot. Some lost edges would probably look good here, say the leg dissapearing into the shadow. Are you going to be working on it more? I like the post-apocalyptic theme, so I say good choice of topic! :)
@ razz, I originally wasn't going to work on it more, but reading your post gave me some ideas. I'll try to play with the edges tomorrow + ref hunting. I do agree on the flatness of the character, a beginner's mistake on my end!! Thanks for the critique :D
A bit of marker coloring, I always find it relaxing :D
(Inspired by http://www.adrants.com/images/33.jpg)
I don't want to abandon this one :) since the figure wasn't working I decided to repaint it from scratch....or silhouette
More updates on that assignment, values still pretty rough
Some figure drawings (ref. stock photos and Fringe S03E06)
Second assignment (around 2.5 hours)
Hey nice studies you've got here man. I seriously dont know what more to say.
@ Gthm/death, thank you!
Assignment for digital painting class (more polished)...I still don't understand light sources all that well :(
An attempt at a creature + hands
Character concept for an assignment.
hello there fellow 514'er
keep up the studies, you're doing well :D
