You should try to shade those muscles.
You should try to shade those muscles.
Here's some more attempts at shading various 3d objects. I might have to try my luck at something sexually perverse sometime.
To LtPlissken: I was too busy trying to get them to look right, but you are correct to mention the lack of shading.
good stuff! If i were you I would try and find a few artists you love and imitate their styles, it will teach you a lot and you'll eventually develop a great style of your own! I did this and still do sometimes, just don't trace...
been a looooooooooong while since I last dropped by...I definitely see improvement here!
And its nice to see you trying out various kinds of stuff in here..thats good.
One minor advice would be try drawing larger..drawing too small makes you use only your wrist.
Jared: Good point, but I already have for one of my styles (That Obama Hype pic).
ANGRY: I just tried it for the first two pics.
I haven't done any custom spriting in a while and have been thinking about it, along with:
-A few new character designs.
-Something sexually perverse.
-Some new animation tests.
However, I will continue with the studies to help with whatever shortcomings that I have...
I haven't posted in a few days and here's some new stuff.
Some more Conni Gordon inspired stuff...
Edible Castle and more rushed Fighting Seraph stuff...
More anatomy studies...By the way, I could use some input on my character and mechanical designs.
Always some great surprises in this sketchbook, however I do not know how to open this last animation.
For those who are unable to see my Flash directly from the uploader:
Boss Destruction test (sorry about the sound quality).
I was testing out various poses.
This was inspired by a Ball of Death stunt that I saw last year.
An explosion drill that I did for the Mindchamber forums.
man, wish i knew how to do flash!
good job on these man!
Here's one more test animation, only this time, it's in the vein of Space Harrier.
I might have to do a new drawing of some sort tomorrow, since I had to work and lacked any drawing motivation.
First off, EGOT. If you have never seen this Flash cartoon, do so now!
Second, Female body from imagination, which isn't work safe.
Third, Hand studies.
Nice studies. I think that you should use references for the female figures, just to keep things right. The hand studies have a proportion issues, nothing serious, but you will solve that pretty soon with more exercises. Great improvements.
If there is one series that I would like to see come back, Joe Zombie would be it. Sure, it may be stick figures, but Rob DenBleyker directed and animated those sticks with the skill that few on NG could compare. I just wish that he would take a break from Cyanide & Happiness and finish this up already!
I was bored, so I did this while designing characters. Now, I'm watching a Gwar flash.
More random stuff...
Those arm studies are quite possibly the best stuff you've done so far. Keep that up!
Not in the mood to comment...
keep up the studies your doing good, draw from life more carry your sketchbook wherever you go and draw whats around you, also check out the book "drawing on the right side of the brain" by betty edwards, its an ok book maybe not the best but the countour and rapid sketching, drawing upside down lessons help in seeing better, just a suggestion.
Sorry for the three-day absence, but I've been busy with work and Tales of Symphonia that I haven't had anything new outside of observing porn videos. However, I will do some new Loomis stuff tomorrow and maybe Flash animation.
I kept my end of the bargain...
Some more observational stuff...
Hi man, I think this is very good, and keep practicing!
I made this as a means of doing mock ups for a certain handheld from Atari...
To show how I progressed so far...
Perspective studies are always useful.
