color storyboard

Hey all, it's been a while since I posted anything. Below are some color storyboards for my Visual Development class. They were based on a Stephen King short story The Gray Dick. I'm still not sure what that story was about but it was fun to came up with these images. I'm still keeping up my personal book project if anybody is interested. You can check out the 3 new images on my site under Book Project section. Thanks ahead for any comments :)

Amazing. Very emotive and descriptive. I have so much respect for people who can do storyboards.
Very nice work.

tegehel August 29th, 2003 05:54 PM

Very nice, very moody. I must admit, makes me want to pick up the book. I almost wish you made a comic-book version of that story in that style (you have 2 weeks, GO!)

I hope they're not too dark on your screen. These were done relatively fast. They started as tiny thumbnails about 1X2 " with a blue indigo color-erase pencil. I then finish them off in Photoshop. The textures are mostly from the pencil marks. I'll post the thumbnails later if anybody is interested.

the last ones a little hard to read

- these are all I have. It was a group project so I hope my other friends will post theirs soon. As for the last one, it's suppose to be the death shot of a naked man with his head chopped off by a plate while he's having an erection at the dinner table. Uhhh...don't ask me why that is...I didn't write the story.

Meshead August 30th, 2003 07:01 AM

Unbelievable...

First I would like to say that these are just beautiful!! Absolutely stunning work. But I have to ask... How much time did it take to do this. I only ask becuase genrealy story boards are done pretty quick and it seems to me that a "Storyboard" of this quality is no longer a story board. Its a finished piece. Thats all I was just wondering. As everone here I would love to see more.

tyboogie August 30th, 2003 11:48 AM

"" the death shot of a naked man with his head chopped off by a plate while he's having an erection at the dinner table.""

i would love to see the original thumbnail sketches--ty

Waho! that is some killer dramtic lighting, the whole thing reminds of a Cormac McCarthy Novel. Which is a good thing.

My only suggestion is im not crazy about the face of the in the close of the little boy. Render it out some more maybe so it more like a little kid.
