- Ok, so I've been a member of this site for almost 7 years now but have yet to actually get involved with the site/community. Since im kind of a "shy" artist i mainly used this site for personal education, reference, and inspiration above everything else.. At the age of 26, im beginning to feel like im wasting time as well as the little talent that i do have and am ready to start taking my life and my art a little more seriously.
I've been drawing since i can remember with very little formal education.. i attended the Cleveland Institute of Art for a year (05'-06'), as well as The Ft. Lauderdale Art Institute for a semister (07'). I took foundation classes, hoping to study in Fine Art Painting as my major, with a minor in Game Art & Design/Illustration.. Financing school ended up being a huge problem which caused me to decide that school really isn't for me, and for that reason only sadly.
After leaving school to present day I've been studying in all of the areas of art that i find interesting/inspiring such as; concept art, the art of tattoo, comic book illustration, poster/cd illustration, fine art portrait/figurative/surreal painting, digital painting, graffiti art, caricature art, along with quite a few others.. Ive dabbled in all of these fields, and continue to study and practice in the majority of these fields, with the problem of deciding which one I'd like to peruse as a possible career. My greatest struggle with art, is that im a bit of a scatterbrain, and i tend to lose and gain interest with these areas of art on what seems to be a weekly to monthly basis. Constantly changing my mind and my goals which causes me to create a ton of unfinished work.
As far as my art career goes, i have had a few paid gigs, though nothing i would consider professional. Gigs include doing sign art for a local grocery store for their produce section, tattoo flash for mostly friends, logo art for a local brewery, as well as logo art for a few local bands. Im currently working on a comic book called "Dead Stoned" as the inker (though lately ive been doing the penciling too), as well as doing quite a few live painting gigs with many of Columbus, Ohio's top underground hip hop musicians/bands
ehh starting to turn into a book, ill work more on this a bit later. Its time to draw now :)
