I sometime like to paint some space scene with giant ships, war and that stuff, but it usually is much inferior to my fiction. One of my big desires when I paint space things is the feeling of vast space, and extremes (light and dark, cold and hot, long time of travel vs. quick pass by).
Real space and space technology is far beyond houman common sense and estimation.
It's very difficult for example put one 10km long ship into close proximity of viewer and an other (enemy) 100 000km away into the same picture. The other ship can not be seen by viewer in enought detail to notice fight between these two ships.
I'd like to discuss how to express such extremes in painting to catch the feeling of space and hypermodern technology.
one rare example of painting where the feeling of very large structure vas achieved is concep art of Craig Mullins of the inner ring in Halo
this one is not the best one, but I can't find better right now
just sharing my art with people here..
