ya know it sounds really wierd...
I dont know if anyone else does this but it kinda seems to work for me in some situations.
but act like a blind person and feel around where you wanna draw..
I'm saying like for the neck..
kind of put your head where you want your drawing's head to be (same position i mean) and just feel every part of it.
I think kind of getting those little crevasses and pieces of your neck that you dont always see, by feeling.. you might get a better understanding of what's goin on in there lol
idk you can try it.. like I said it doesnt work all the time but it helps me out quite a bit..

do it alone though if you worry about looking like a fool in front of others because I'm sure it looks really wierd.

good luck I too share your age and dream
maybe one of us will realize it one day =)

The only advice that anyone can give you is get a anatomy book and start drawing form it and learn from it and or draw people from reference like books magazines or even the better option draw from life it's hard I know but it's the only way to learn guessing isn't a option.

Check out this thread:

It's got links to two Bridgman books, Constructive Anatomy and The Human Machine. You will like Human Machine if you are having problems with the joints, as you said. They're both free. But get both, they are fantastic books. Just start copying the drawings and reading the text. Bridgman really shows you how to break down the figure into blocks and planes.

Good luck!

If you are asking about the functionality of the joints, think in terms of mechanical metaphors. Go to Bridgman to get good information on this. If you are talking about the visual surface anatomy look for visual metaphors. Stephen Rogers Peck has great examples for this
