The Photo Challenge - Pairs Of Two

Okay everybody, this weeks topic took me awhile to decide but I think that we can get creative, Pairs of Two, thats two objects/people/whatever that you would see come in a pair. (just to clarify that lol) Have fun!

I believe that if we are back on schedule according to the rules that the poll will open this tuesday? June 19th. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

READ THE RULES

1. Only one picture per contestant.

2. No previously used material. All photos must be fresh and never displayed on any gallery / thread.

3. The winner of the last poll will set the next topic; if the same person stands as the winner two times in a row, he or she must choose another user to present the next topic

4. Enhancements of the picture ARE allowed in terms of color management, curves, levels, etc. Adding elements in the photo / brushing / anything that diverts into photomanipulation shall not be accepted.

5. No voting for your own picture.

6. The challenge starts thursday, poll opens tuesday and closes thursday. the winner starts a new post on the photo forum that is named "The Photo challenge - the chosen topic".

7. The poll shall be opened tuesday evening.

8. In the event of a tie in the polls, the person who created the challenge casts the tie breaking vote.

9. The winner has until 18:00/6:00 pm (GMT +2) thursday, after he or she has won to present the next topic, if the winner fails to do so. the topic will be presented by the 2nd place person on the poll

10. Please add a title to your picture

Idk about everyone else but I sorta like having more than half a week to come up with a picture... Maybe it's just me though and everyone else wants to keep it moving quicker.

I like it being quicker because it feels like it takes forever having over a week to do it and things kinda of seem to die and I get antsy lol, just my outlook from the quicker perspective

Yeah I can see where you're coming from there too... I have no say in it really anyway so it doesn't matter too much :D (and I have an idea or 2 already, so now it's just a matter of taking the picture(s)...)

The layout used to be worse, didn't have the weekend to do it in. We also tried a weekend specific challenge (I was a supporter of the idea) but that just fell flat on its face.

As for being weekly, I think it works quite well, the current format is fine. You have Friday - Tuesday basically, maybe squeeze something in on Thursday. This means that you have Before Weekend, During Weekend, After Weekend with Wednesday as polling day. So what you can't do before the weekend maybe you can do during or after it, and all the other little combinations.

Anywayz, this belongs in the OMGz about the poll. So just give it some airing then it'll be moved over there.

I have a shot I did last weekend I'd LOVE to use, but I posted it Monday on another site. Are you referring to never being used in a thread/gallery on CA or are we requiring completely fresh material that's never been posted before anywhere?

The idea is to preferably encourage photographs that were taken specifically for this challenge.
So you set out with the idea of 'pairs' in mind.

That's the root of the rule, and so it would imply don't use it if ever used before. That's the way I see it at least, well, that's what it says.

The solution here would be to post the photo in your personal thread as 'the one I'd have really liked to use'. After all, isn't it more fun to go out and try and create something new?

Yeah I was sorta trying to go for that in a subtle way (since you can see the backs of the cards, so it's like 2 pairs...)

I had another idea, and I might still try it out if I get any time before Tuesday... This was all I could come up with so far though

well, i went out today, 1'st day in ages with al my kit, I didnt take one photo..nothing at all...not a sasage.

Tomorrow is a new day. And today wasn't a complete waste of time, i found a good place to shoot storms....there were alot of lighting struck trees up there though so im not entirely sure its a good idear

i went out again today to have a go at this. My SD card went bad and will now no longer read in the camera, thats a 2gb SD card in the bin.... what are the chances of that?

well I think the 25th would be good, but I dont think its really up to me. But however an extension would be wonderful, this weekend was pretty terrible and I dont see how I will get a photo in either, now I see why it has been going on for longer periods of time these last couple challenges....
