I'd love to have an area that teaches and discusses the principles taught around the ConceptArt.org Atelier curriculum (http://www.conceptart.org/school/info.shtml).
This could be it's own section in the forum on ConceptArt.org > Education & Learning > Atelier Instruction.
Since Atelier instruction is based on strict levels of learning, each level could have it's own forum or thread. That way, anyone can join at any time, but not interrupt the flow of others.
So people working on Cast Drawing would post to a different forum then people working on Cast Painting.
Personally, I'd love to be able to attend a real Atelier but I'm unable to. I'd still like to benefit from some of the discipline and instruction taught there.
One resource I know I can start from is the book:
Classical Drawing Atelier (http://www.amazon.com/Classical-Drawing-Atelier-Contemporary-Traditional/dp/0823006573/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-0323704-9605475?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1181849580&sr=8-1):
A Contemporary Guide to Traditional Studio Practice
by Juliette Aristides
and
Classical Painting Atelier (http://www.amazon.com/Classical-Painting-Atelier-Contemporary-Traditional/dp/0823006581/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/103-0323704-9605475?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1181849580&sr=8-2):
A Contemporary Guide to Traditional Studio Practice (Hardcover)
by Juliette Aristides
(scheduled to come out April 2008)
Only problem is, I don't get my work critiqued at each level. Also, concept and digital painting instruction aren't taught in these books like the ConceptArt.org Atelier.
Any thoughts?
