Alright, I really want to understand how to do *MORE* Skintone work. I think that part of me graps the sense of where skin folds, etc, but I want to take it beyond that. What else can I do to enhance my erm, people? Also, I just want to add that I am working with markers. So I also want to get an idea of what markers are the best, and what other media would help? Thank you :)

Working with markers gives you a limited color palette unless you have a lot of them.
So if you want to make a wide range of skincolors that ain't the best medium to do it.
I use pantone tria markers for quick sketches. Prismacolor is another well known brand.
Any paint medium will force you to learn some color theory though.

Experimentation & selfcriticism will get you far.
Just browse around for color theory and hopefully you'll gain a couple of ideas how to tackle the problem

Check out the tutorials, tips & tricks section one of the topics was skin tones/color

Uziel, Thank you so much for responding! I had a feeling I was going to have to mix it up, lol. But I don't mind getting my hands dirty one bit. I'll post my progress with you guys in the sketchbook thread. But, I keep hearing people talk about Copic too, lol, although I've never used them, Hopefully I'll invest in them one day. I was afraid that I was going to have to spend alot of money of Markers too soon prior to me entering art school (sooner or later they'll be asking). I have some experience with arcylic. Thanks for the links, that work is amazing :)...

Spotted the Markers thread! I want to render LIKE THAT! I'm kind of lazy, and I really love markers. I'm going to give it a go, and I'm going to ask that kid how he renders and what he uses :)

Don't get stuck on one medium only.
Versatility is a card you better play in the graphical industry.
Markers will block in surfaces very quickly but they have their limits.
So study marker techniques and maybe later you can focus on something else.
Good luck.
