I still have a lot of work to do... but I'm looking at possibly taking Graphic Design at a college/university at a degree or diploma level. I'm wondering what schools are considered acceptable by industry standards? Also if anyone knows of any online schools?

The reason I would prefer an online school is because I have a disability and from day to day don't know if I'll be well enough to attend classes. Hence the reason I'm looking at doing graphic design.... something I can do from home as a career.

So far the only accredited and decent looking one I found was from ashworth college? I should mention I'm in BC Canada.

Most people and companies who hire artists don't care whether the artist has a degree or went to an accredited school. It's all about your skills and your presentation of those skills (your portfolio).

Sorry, I don't know of any online schools to point you to.

i was looking at graphic design job listings on monster.ca and most of them seem to want a graphic design degree or diploma + 3 years relevant experience.

any advice on how to go about building a portfolio? what they're looking for etc?
