We are currently seeking talented concept artists to help conceptualize a Half-Life 2 mod project. The project wiki is located at http://rumandcoke.net/modwiki. Currently, we need artists who are capable of the following:

Weapon concept artist: Given a brief description of a weapon and requested features, you should be able to produce detailed sketches of how the weapon would appear in real life. You should have knowledge of basic features of firearms to able to draw them accurately. Familiarity with modern trends in firearms design a plus. Your final product must be of sufficient detail that it may be used as source material for a 3D model of the weapon.

Environment concept artist: Working with a mapping team, you should be able to sketch environments such that they conform to a specific thematic style. You should be able to draw detailed interior and exterior environments, complete with styled architecture, furniture, art, signage, and other details. Familiarity with the art-deco movement and prohibition-era culture a plus. Your should be able to communicate effectively, as you will be working closely with the mappers.

We are a hobbyist mod team. We prefer US residents so that our work schedules facilitate frequent communication. However, we will consider anyone for the positions. Excellent English skills are a must.

Displeasing though it may sound, we will require a brief trial before you are accepted to the position. We will ask you to draw a low-detail sketch of a subject of our choosing to make sure you understand our style, environment, and themes. A portfolio is not a substitute for this, as the purpose of the trial is to test your understanding of the project and your communication skills.

These are paid positions. Since we are hobbyist group, however, we are not made of money. We are looking for talented hobbyist artists looking to pick up some pocket cash or build their portfolios. If you are a professional and expect a professional's wage, please keep looking.

Please email a link to your portfolio to uberkommando@gmail.com. Pay rates are negotiable, so include an offer.
