I am going to be attending college and majoring in architectural engineering. I have been looking at this site for a while and thought it would be a good place to see what other people thought of my drawings....

I dont have much to start with but i will post plenty more....

so please be honest and let mee know what you think....

There isn't too much stuff here... Surely you've more drawing?
Since you're going to be studying architecture, you must have some perspective drawings? How about showing us some of those would be nice.

Well i decided that i would post some of my older sketches and drawing to let people see them and let me know what i need to work on more... critics are more than welcome

1. some more perspective drawings
2. a lily i drew during class one day
3. a tree i sketched
4. a sketch off one of my favorite cars

Good sketch of the Corvette. You have good taste in cars. ;)
Watch the contrast. For example, on the lily, good shape, but the lack of contrast flattens it.

I'm probably wrong here, but I'm getting the feeling that you're not drawing as much as you should be.
Always remember, if you want to be a successful artist, you need to eat and breath drawing.

I'm going to do a little advertising for Seedling here and advise that you check out her thread: Concept Art 101 (http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=81332)

Good luck! :yayca:

One of the most important aspects of drawing for an architect is perspective. I see that you have a good grasp on perspective but draw more! Draw alot from photos and life. Try many different angles and perspectives. Draw the same object in all kinds of views. Doing good so far, would like to see more, though :) Keep it up!

First of all I would like to thank HunterKiller and Zombie dla for their comments. I know i have not draw as much as i should but with school and all i never really hade much time, but that is going to change. I am on summer break now so i have plenty of free time. I checked out Seedling's Concept art 101 and I think it is going to help me alot... I would advise anyone to check it out..
I know i need alot of improvement so I apreciate any and all comments..

once again thank you to HunterKiller and Zombie dla

good to see you taking on more varied subjects. i think i would focus more on observational drawing, just looking at shapes of dark and light. here (http://sevencamels.blogspot.com/2007/06/space-and-form-1.html) is also some stuff that you might find interesting for creating depth besides the old perspective tricks.

keep drawing.
