Since Star Wars is pretty much responsible for my interest in concept art, it's only right that my first post is inspired by the galaxy far, far away.

I'm thinking of going back and messing with the faces some, and maybe the background. Any suggestions?

Well that's quite ok for a start - but is the piece finished? I think you'd get more crits if you posted this in the WIP section and put in a nice background.

Also the colors are too saturated for my taste... Good luck and welcome.

concept is different, thats about all i can say though. i think your trying to tackle too many elements at once though. before messing with color, its important you have a good drawing to start with. you need to really work with anatomy and representing 3d form on 2d surface. i know its fun to just let your imagination run wild. but it wont do any good unless you can back it up with knowledge and abililty to correctly represent the world around us in 2d form. so, study the real world around you first, which i know.. it can be boring, cause your in it everyday. but its not, once you really start studying it. i would suggest you post black and white art, mostly line drawings.. because thats where you need to start. its like a wireframe, it doesnt matter how much you dress it up and make it pretty, if its not right underneath, it will always be wrong. so, draw some still lifes, or buy some anatomy books and practice from them. if you have access to some figure drawing classes, take them.
