This is some pencil work I did earlier that I decided to throw up here while i'm at it. They're basic character design for a story I write off and on for my better half. Not sure what kind of critique i'm really looking for, but fire away. I don't mind taking a hit if it means I can learn something.

His hands look a bit small in the 2nd pic, and his eyes are lopsided. They also both look a bit top-heavy, but i think that could be the huge shoulder armour :)

While the rendering of both images is good, the proportion and positions look a bit awkward to me. I think there are a few problems that are the same in both images:
- Perspective seems to be an issue. While the actual rendering of the characters is quite good, they feel flat and awkwardly posed, sort of like Egyptian heiroglyphs.
- Proportion is also an issue. The hands, arms, and legs are a bit small compared to the torsos.
That being said, the rendering is very nice and the design of the armor is interesting too.
