hi,

here's a piece i did yesterday for a friend... hair is painted poor cause i ran out of time... some time effective hair painting techniques would be appreciated *hint*;)

i would really appreciate some tips on coloring and digital painting, cause im new to this.... ive allways been drawing only :/

The only dig. painting tip i can give are ones that i have received myself; i would suggest to turn the opacity on your line drawing way down and use it only as a painting reference. Work towards a goal of laying down layer after layer of paint for shadows and highpoints. Enough layers and refinement so that when you are finished, you barely need the line drawing to recognize your picture. Only then the lines can be overlapped to neatly coral all the surfaces.

Working really quickly and using radical highlighting hues can also have its advantages in the long run. I know its rather vague, but it has helped me a bit. I hope someone w/ a little more experience than I can help out, but for now that's all i have :( :D . g l
