Echelon Software is looking for Concept Artist(s) for their hard science fiction FPS game "Black Powder Red Earth".
Featured on Gamespot.com's IndieVelopment reality series about game development, Echelon is currently developing "Black Powder Red Earth", a military science fiction game set about 40 years in the future on a teething Martian space colony. Stylistically, we are shooting for a less high tech future and more of a noirish sprawling improvised city. Think Blade Runner or Ghost in the Shell minus all the immense infrastructure.
Check out http://blackpowderredearth.com for the teaser.
We will be producing between 6-10 levels initially. Each with its own 2-3 page user story detailing key land marks and the overall feel of the level. The artist will collaborate with the director to produce renderings (paintings and/or drawings) that can be handed off to other team members to implement in the game.
The ideal candidate will also be able to create front/side drawings of set pieces/props that can be handed off to 3D artists to build.
The position is freelance but could be moved to full time if the relationship develops positively. Send resume/portfolio links to jobs@echelon-software.com
